The Silk Road Booklet
Design
This tiny booklet was inspired by the book Silk by Alessandro Baricco, and is intended as a travelling companion on the path from Niece to Shirakawa, Japan. It's size is A7, smaller than an average mobile device, and more waterproof than one. It is printed on untearable, unsoluble Synaps paper, which also enables high-contrast text and intense colors . It contains maps of the entire route, basic information about the most important places along the way, and entertainment sections, such as recipes, a dictionary and stories. The student project was mentored by prof. BoĊĦtjan Botas Kenda. Creating printed media is very rewarding when you get to hold it, touch it and it never runs out of power.
